Tutorial Tuesday-Faux Metal

Here's a simple and easy way to do faux metal. For this technique you'll need a piece of paper, your stamp, versa mark pad, heat tool and silver or gold embossing powder.

First start by inking up part of your paper with versa mark. Sprinkle your embossing powder on it. I use sheet of cardstock that are longer than what I need, then only ink up half so that I have a 'handle' to use when I'm heating it up.

Melt your embossing powder. Once it's melted you'll sprinkle another layer of embossing powder on top. If you're really fast you can put the embossing powder on while it's still hot and not quite dry. Otherwise just wait a second and use your versamark pad again. You'll need to repeat these steps until you have a total of 5 layer of embossing powder.

When your embossing your last layer, get your stamp ready you'll need to move quickly. Ink it up with versamark, and while your embossing powder is still hot and wet press the stamp into it and let it sit there for a few seconds while the embossing powder cools. When it's cool carefully remove your stamp and you'll have a stamped image in the embossing powder that looks like faux metal.

Add to your card and your done!
