break :(

Hello! I'm sorry I didn't have a Saturday post for you. Some things have come up and I'm not going to be able to stamp and post as frequently as I normally do. I'm going to try to do 3-4 posts a week but please don't hold me to that. I still hope you check back frequently and hopefully I'll be back to posting regularly very soon!
Thanks!!!

The Bunny and the Chick!

AHH!!! They're so cute!!!! Can you hear me giggling with pure excitement. Those of you who know me in person, know I really do giggle and get giddy with a new cute project, and can probably imagine me doing that right now!! OK, now stop laughing at me and check out these cute Easter treats!!
I know!!! Aren't they just some of the cutest things you've ever seen!!!?! And guess what? That's the milk carton die!!!! YEP!! Can you believe it?? Ok, now I wish I could take credit for this idea but while cruising split coast a while back I came across this bunny. It was just so cute, I couldn't NOT make it. So after I completed the bunny I thought, hmmmm he needs an Easter pal so I started making my chick. The chick is very simple and only uses 3 punch, the bunny however is a little more complicated but still, both are super easy!!
Ok, the bunny! Look at him looking at you, how could you not love it!! AWWWWWWW!

I used a big fluffy cotton ball for his tail. I rolled it around in some Pretty in Pink ink to get that same soft pink look.
Now the chick. When contemplating a friend for the bunny I thought about making another bunny but sponged in Bashful Blue. But then I thought, you need a chick at Easter. So with under 10 minutes left of Logan's nap I started creating like a made women!!

I couldn't be more pleased with it!

Movers and Shapers

When the big shot first came out I was determined to get the Movers and Shapers die. But I haven't used it much recently or ever really...but then I kept seeing all these super cute cards all over the Internet made with the movers and shapers die. So then I had to break out my Movers and Shapers die! I think this will be one of the make and takes at my workshop this weekend. It's really cute and it's not as complicated as it seems. I learned how to do it from Heather Summers, she has a great video on her blog about it.

I used my Vintage Tags SAB set on this card. I just love that set!

I love it! I think my stampers block from yesterday is over. I spent a good portion of the day yesterday stamping and papercrafting. Hopefully I'll have lots to show you!
Supplies:
Stamp Set: Vintage Labels
Cardstock: Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Sending Love DSP
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip

Scrapy Card

I had no creative thoughts running through my mind yesterday. I think I officially have stamper's block. There's plenty of projects that I want to copy and make, just not feeling up to it for some reason. I'm still trying to get rid of the cold from last week. Once that goes away I know I'll feel 100% better. Anyway, enough of me complaining. Since I had no creative juices yesterday I thought I would put stuff away from my workshop on Saturday. Usually I unpack the day after not sure why it didn't happen over the weekend, I guess I just got too busy with other things. But I did finally unpack. And while unpacking I started to play with a bunch of the left over scraps from the workshop. So that's how this card came to be. I wanted to try to make a card with all the scraps and nothing else.

I'm not totally loving this card, but I still think I'd send it to a friend. I think it would have really jazzed it up if I used a filigree brad or jumbo eyelet or something in the center of the flower instead of a silver brad. And that's retired ribbon-I didn't even realize that until I got to my workshop! LOL!! Oh well.
So here's what you can create with just a few left over workshop supplies. Hope you like. Let's hope I'm a little more creative today!!
Supplies:
Stamp Set: Fresh Cuts
Cardstock: So Saffron, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Sweet Pea DSP
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Accessories: XL Flower Punch, Big Shot, Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Pumpkin Pie Striped ribbon, Dimensionals, Silver Brads

Tutorial Tuesday-Baby Shoes

We've been trying to throw a surprise baby shower for one of the Mom's at my Mom's Group that meets at my church on Thursday's. But after 3 date changes because she couldn't be there we finally decided not to make it a surprise. So now she know about it and in just over a week, we'll have her shower. This is baby number 5 for her so she doesn't need much, we'll be providing lots of diapers and clothes for her though. So I'm attempting to make these cute little baby shoes for the shower favors. I'm not sure how many I need to make and I'm not sure if I'll have the time to make them all, but I'm gonna try!! I found this pattern for the baby shoes at Diana's blog. I had to resize the pattern to print on my printer, just warning you, you may have to do the same. They're really easy to put together once you get them cut out. So let's get started.

When you cut out your pattern make sure to cut 2 of the bases. One for the inside and outside of the shoe. I'm using Certainly Celery DSP for my shoes but any DSP would work.
I choose to use the Tombow Multi Glue to assemble the first one. I wasn't sure how much moving around I'd need to do with the the little teeth so I didn't want sticky strip that is stuck forever when you stick it. On the pattern there's a mark on the top and bottom of the shoe base and there are marks on 2 of the teeth on other part. Those are the marks that you'll need to line up to make the shoe. So I'm lining up the back of my shoe base to the mark on the 3rd tooth-hope that all makes sense and you're still with me.

Just start working your way around the shoe base adhering the teeth under.

Yay I made it to the end!!!

Glue the second base of your shoe on the bottom to cover up all those teeth, they aren't attractive.

I used a little sticky strip to hold my strap down.

Awwwww, it's so cute!!!!

Just add a button to finish it and you're done! I used a small, skinny scrap of Old Olive cardstock in my button. I just love this little shoe!!!

Loving Kraft

I hope you had a great weekend. We're already more than half way through February, can you believe it!?
I had a workshop on Saturday night with Heather and her friends and I had a great time! Heather also earned lots of FREE stuff from hosting. There is still plenty of time to book that SAB workshop! Contact me to set it up today!!
Today's card is simple and elegant and the card I gave to Dan on Valentine's Day. We spent the day at home doing laundry and playing with Logan. Not the most exciting way to spend Valentine's Day but since we don't go all out celebrating it anyway, I think exchanging cards is the most we do, laundry at home seemed fitting. Anyway back to the card.

I used the I {Heart} Hearts set and some Bella Bleu DSP. I love Kraft cardstock. It is quickly becoming my favorite go to cardstock. The rest of it is pretty self explanatory, I won't go into huge detail on it.
I will have a tutorial for you tomorrow. I know I didn't have one last week but I will tomorrow, so make sure to check back.
Supplies:
Stamp Sets: I {Heart} Hearts, Three Little Words
Cardstock: Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Not Quite Navy
Ink: Not Quite Navy
Accessories: Linen Thread, Glue Dots, Button Latte, Small Heart Punch, Word Window Punch, Dimensionals

Simple Flower

Don't you just love the Olympics? I was watching the opening ceremonies last night and I love the Olympics. I like the summer ones better but I like watching the winter ones too, it's probably the only time that you'll see me watching skiing and snowboarding and speed skating and all those other winter sports that I don't know about or just forget about except every 4 years. I think Vancouver is beautiful and to my Canadian friends I would love to visit Canada, the whole country is so pretty. Someday--perhaps in the summer though :)

Today card is simple but quick and easy. This is one of the make and take's we'll be making tonight at Heather's workshop.

This card showcases so many new products in the mini and in the SAB catalog too. And I've said it before but I love those colors. These colors are perhaps one of my all time favorite color combinations.
The card is pretty self explanatory so I won't go into too many details on it. I did the faux suede again on the flower. I just love that technique! I'm going to go finish getting ready for the workshop and perhaps sneak in some Olympic TV time. I hope you have a wonderful Valentine's Day!!!
Supplies:
Stamp Set: Whimsical Words (SAB)
Cardstock: Rose Red, Old Olive, Pretty in Pink
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Accessories: XL Flower, Big Shot, Polka Dot Embossing Folder, Scallop Trim Border Punch (SAB), Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon, Dimensionals, Sweet Pea Felt

Valentine Treats

Logan had a great time at school yesterday. The kids all brought in Valentines and they had decorated white paper sacks to put them all in. They spent time exchanging Valentines. When we got home Logan was so excited to see them. Most of them had some candy attached so that was an extra bonus! To see what Logan took check out this post. So the kids all enjoyed their candy and valentines, but I thought that the teachers might want some grown up treats :)

These were so easy to make. I used the Sending Love DSP from the mini and ran it through the big shot using the fancy favor die. I assembled them glitter side out, cause it's just so cute. Then I took some of the glassine bags, which are sooo great by the way, filled them with Hershey Kisses and used some of the satin ribbon to tie the top of the bag closed.

I did a super simple tag with the I {heart} Hearts set. Remember when you buy this stamp set before February 28 Stampin' Up! will donate $2 to the American Red Cross Haiti Relief fund. SU has already raised over $15,000 and there's still a few weeks left!! I stamped the heart then punched it out with the heart punch. I used my Movers and Shapers die with the Heart to cut out the red heart it's layered on. So pretty!
Supplies:
Stamp Set: I {heart} Hearts
Cardstock: Real Red, Very Vanilla, Sending Love DSP
Ink: Real Red
Accessories: Glassine Bags, Satin Ribbon, Linen Thread, Full Heart Punch, Big Shot, Movers and Shapers die, Fancy Favor Box die

Birthday Flowers

Boy do I have a beautiful card to show you! I love this card! I love the colors I love the texture I love everything about it!! Here look.....

Isn't it just so pretty!? I'm loving that new extra large flower punch in the mini! And my newest obsession, in addition to the buttons and linen thread, is the faux suede technique. That's where you break down the fibers of the paper by crumpling it or using your bone folder or the side of your desk, anything just to break down the fibers enough to pull the cardstock apart. When you pull it apart you're left with this awesome suede like texture to your cardstock. So I did that to all 3 of my flowers and added a different accent in the center of each one.
The Pretty in Pink flower has a button from the Button Latte set with some linen thread, the So Saffron Flower has a Pretty in Pink Epoxy Brad and the More Mustard Flower has one of the accents from the Sweet Pea Felt Flowers kit.

Then I had to use some Old Olive Satin Ribbon, I love that stuff. The satin ribbon is my new favorite ribbon!! It used to be the 5/8 inch grosgrain---which I still LOVE! But the satin ribbon is just so yummy! I now have some of all the colors and I couldn't be more excited about it!! I even broke out some of my Sweet Pea DSP for this card. I love this card!! Hope you like it too!!
Supplies:
Stamp Set: Happy Moments SAB
Cardstock: So Saffron, Chocolate Chip, White, Old Olive, More Mustard, Pretty in Pink, Sweet Pea DSP
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Old Olive
Accessories: Extra Large Fancy Flower Punch, Pretty in Pink Epoxy Brads, Linen Thread, Button Latte, Sweet Pea Felt, Old Olive Satin Ribbon, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Word Window Punch, Glue Dots, Dimensionals

Smile!

Isn't the new hostess set, Picnic Parade, in the mini just too cute!!?? I know, I love it too!!!! I love all the little animals and you can do so much with them! Logan helped me make this card. He chose all the colors that we used and I colored it but he told me what color to color it. We made this as a get well card for Mr. Steve as Logan calls him. He's a friend from church who hasn't been feeling well lately.

To color the images I used my blender pen and markers. I colored the markers on top of my stamp case and picked up the colors from there. I like the bright colors from the markers, but sometimes I can't blend them well enough when I just color directly on the paper so I like to color on the cases and pick the color up from there. You still get the bright marker colors but it's all perfectly blended. Then when your done just use a baby wipe and clean the top of your case. Works great!
I used Bashful Blue to go around the edges off the bunny, mailbox and bird, I think it helps make them 'pop' a little more.
I think this card is super cute and I can't wait to play with this set more. I think Logan wants to play more with it too :)
Supplies:
Stamp Set: Picnic Parade
Cardstock: Always Artichoke, Chocolate Chip, Kraft, White
Ink: Staz-On pad and Mellow Moss, Always Artichoke, Ruby Red, Not Quite Navy, Summer Sun, Close to Cocoa, Bashful Blue, Pretty in Pink, Going Gray markers

Chocolate Bunny

I don't have a tutorial for you today :( I'm still fighting this horrible cold. This is the hardest hit cold I've ever had. Normally I can function with a cold but not this one. Every time I tried to stamp it just wasn't going to happen. Plus, I'm not feeling particularly creative. BUT I do have something to show you, not a tutorial but I think you'll still like the card I have. But first here's what my order came in last week. Isn't it great!!

Though I think it should say that year round not just during Sale-a-Bration!

But on to the card. I used my new Chocolate Bunny stamp. The card didn't come out exactly how I envisioned it but close.
I stamped the bunny on Chocolate Chip cardstock and embossed him with clear EP to give him that shinny look of yummy chocolate. Everything but the bunny was crumpled. I'm really into doing that to all my cards lately. I just love the vintage look it gives. Everything is sponged in Chocolate Chip ink.

And I couldn't do a card without my new favorite accessory, linen thread and a button!

I hope I'll be back this week sometime with a tutorial, perhaps a Tutorial Thursday. If I don't kick this cold soon I'm gonna be in real trouble. I'm supposed to have breakfast with friends and then dinner with a friend tomorrow and I have a workshop this weekend. So pray that whatever I have I can get rid of in the next 24 hours, or at least move on from looking like something the cat dragged in. I think I am improving, though you wouldn't know that from looking at me. Oh well, goodness listen to me go on and on. Ughh! I hope you have a great day!!!

Supplies:
Stamp Sets: Chocolate Bunny, All Holidays
Cardstock: Kraft, Certainly Celery, Chocolate Chip, Sweet Pea DSP
Ink: Versa Mark, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Big Shot, Linen Thread, Button Latte, Top Note Die, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Certainly Celery Satin Ribbon, Glue Dots, Heat Tool, Clear EP, Dimensionals, sponges

Valentine's Day...Early

It's gonna be a quick post today. I'm a little under the weather. Logan was sick last week and he was kind enough to share his virus with me. So a real quick post today so I can go rest.

Logan helped me make these. They're Valentine's for the kids in his class. I still need to make something for the teachers, but I have until Thursday to get them done.
These little boxes are so cute. They're in the mini catalog and you can get them in blue or pink. You get a ton of boxes in the package. I think you get 30. We only used 16 so he still has plenty. To assemble them, I just used my paper piercer and poked a hole for the stick of the sucker, then assembled the box as directed on the instructions that come with it. Logan signed his name on all of them!! Didn't he do a good job too!!

And he attached the hearts with dimensionals on all of them. They're so cute! I just love them!

Well I'm off to hopefully get better!!
Thanks for looking, see you tomorrow for Tutorial Tuesday!!!

Kind Blue Bird

Are you ready for a card? I know the past few day's I've not shown many cards, and I LOVE cards. It's my favorite thing to make. I do love making boxes and other stuff but I love, love, love making cards. It's one of the reasons I signed up to be a demonstrator!! And this card is sooooo cute. I love it!!!

When I got the Happy Moments stamp set I thought it was soo cute but what on earth would I use the bird cage for??? Then I saw this card by Teneale Williams, a demo from Australia, and I knew instantly what do to with that bird!!

I love this card!! It's so simple and came to be in just minutes!! It's probably my favorite SAB card I've made this year!! I've become a little obsessed with using the linen thread and buttons lately, but it's just so pretty how can you not use it!??
The bird is stamped twice, once on the vanilla piece then again on a scrap vanilla piece and cut out. Then it's mounted on dimensionals for some dimension.

Don't the buttons look great with the linen thread?? I've already added more buttons and linen thread to my next order :) Well in fact I've added kraft cardstock too, and ribbon, hmmm maybe it's time to place that order:)
Supplies:
Stamp Sets: Happy Moments SAB, Whimsical Words SAB
Cardstock: Kraft, Vanilla, Brocade Blue, Sweet Pea DSP
Ink: Brocade Blue and Chocolate Chip markers and Chocolate Chip pad
Accessories: Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon, Button Latte button, Linen Thread, Dimensionals
Thanks for looking, see you Monday!! Have a great Super Bowl Sunday.... GOOOO......hmmm....don't know who I'm rooting for........

Got Mail?

Remember my obsession with the little mini mailboxes from Target? Well if you have some or are like me and have tons of them here's a really cute idea for those mailboxes! I decorated or helped decorate 3 of them, one for me, Dan and Logan. We put them on our china cabinet and if the flag of your mailbox is up you have a gift inside. Usually some sort of chocolate, but Logan's has received some games too. I thought it would be a really cute idea for Valentine's Treats. My original thought was to leave them up until Valentines Day but maybe we'll leave them up a little longer. Logan loves them and has been great about putting treats in mine and Dan's boxes not just asking for treats to be left in his. I was worried that he would get really greedy and want gifts and treats all the time, but not so. He's been wonderful about leaving treats in ours too, well mostly Dan's :) And we're not real consistant about it. We put gifts in Logan's mailbox only 2 or 3 times a week. So it's not an everyday thing and it's not intended to be. But is' a cute idea!

I think you can probably figure out which one is Logan's. Dan's is the red one, shhhh that's not SU paper on it. It's paper I got a craft store. It's one of the center pieces left over ones from our church's annual dinner. I didn't think I'd be able to get Dan to decorate his own mail box so I grabbed one of the left over one. Mine is the last one with our Sending Love Sparkly DSP! I also added a handle to mine :)

Love it!! So sparkly!!

Logan used the Fox and Friends set and stamped it on white cardstock. Then I helped him attach it to his mail box.
Thanks for looking, see you tomorrow!!

Sweet Pea Box

It's snowing here as I write this. I'll let you in on a little secret.....I type my posts the day before they post. So I'm typing this on Wednesday during Logan's nap, my normal time for working. Then I schedule it to post the next morning, sneaky huh? Well maybe not but it helps me stay on track. Anyway as I type this it's snowing. And there's a lot of snow in our backyard already. Uggghhhh snow. Maybe this will be our last snow storm.....I can hope can't I? Spring should be just around the corner right??

This little box is so cute!! I just love it. I got the pattern from Angie Juda's blog. She's amazing by the way if you haven't checked her out I strongly recommend doing it. The box is super easy to make, I'll post the dimensions below, but I do suggest watching Angie's video on it. She gives some great tips on putting it together and where to put the adhesive.

Isn't the top just super cute!! I love the felt flowers!!

This little felt piece is keeping the box closed.

Here's the box opened and it's pretty big you could fit a lot of treats in there. And when your done with your treats the box folds completely flat.
Easy storage, it's not going to get smooshed isn't it great!!
Here's the dimensions for it but remember to check out Angie's video!
