Four Frames.....

...Possibly my new favorite stamp set??  Just might be!  I love this stamp set and I didn't think I would like the paper but I DO!!!!  What on earth am I talking about and how can YOU get it?  Well as Sale-a-Bration winds down (today is the last day-you know), SU is getting ready for their next amazing promotion.  This stamp set and DSP will be in the upcoming 2011-2012 Idea Book and Catalog, but in April YOU can get them early!  The stamp in the Four Frames set all coordinate with the Designer Label punch (you'll want to make sure you have one of those) How can you get them?  Well, there's 2 ways:

•Spend $20 (before tax and shipping) on any Stampin' Up! products and become eligible to purchase both the Four Frames Set and Paisley Petals Designer Series Paper.  OR

•Host a $350 (before tax and shipping) workshop and get the Four Frames Set and Paisley Petals Designer Series Paper for FREE!

It's that easy!!  Now onto the card.  I just love this card.  I love the butterfly, the colors and the DSP-nothing bad about this card.  I used one of the frames behind the butterfly and I also used it as a subtle border along the top of the scallop edge.  I also used it to stamp on my butterfly.

Stamp Sets:  Four Frames, Something to Celebrate
Cardstock:  Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze, White, Paisley Petals DSP
Ink:  Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy

Easter Eggs

Yesterday I had an appointment to get my eyes check, I have to say I hate getting my eyes checked.  I don't like the air blowing in my eyes, I don't like the bright lights I don't like answering the "Is this better now or now, how about now"  Something about it I just don't like.  But it had to be done.  I really need new glasses.  The last time I got new glasses was about 4 years ago and since then I've gotten a new prescription for my contacts.  So in the morning and at night I usually wear my glasses and during the day I wear my contacts.  Well the 2 different prescriptions have started reeking havoc on my eyes, that and the fact that I've had contacts since high school is really starting to take it toll on my eyes.  So I needed to see the Dr get some glasses that I can wear all the time.  I think I'll be laying off the contacts for a while.  But I should be able to see in the end so that's a good thing :)  Fortunately my lacking eyesight hasn't stopped me from stamping!

I really love this card.   I got the colors from the handy-dandy, all powerful color coach!  I love that thing and if you don't have one, you really must get one.  It's so great!  I just love mine to pieces!  And don't these colors look great together??  I really love all the layers on this card! From the polka dots in the background, to the torn and scallop edges under the eggs! So pretty!!!
I frayed the ribbon on both sides just to add a little more layers and super cuteness!  I also added pearls to the eggs, except the center one :)  I just makes them look that much more elegant.  You can bet I'll be using my pearls and rhinestones on our real Easter eggs this year too.  I can hardly wait! I'll have to remember to take pictures and post them here.
Supplies:
Stamp Sets:  Something to Celebrate, Easter Blossoms
Cardstock:  Pear Pizazz, Rich Razzleberry, White, Tempting Turquoise
Ink:  Pear Pizazz, Rich Razzleberry, Tempting Turquoise
Accessories:  Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dots folder, Scallop Border Punch, Pearls, Pear Pizazz ribbon, Sponges, Word Window Punch, Dimensionals

Two Cards, One Great Technique!

We are down to the final hours of Sale-a-Bration, if you haven't got all the free sets you want you need to act FAST!  Thursday is the last day!  I can't believe it, it seems to have flown by!  I've had a great time SALE-A-BRATING!  My cards today are made with one of the catalog sets that you can earn FREE during these last few days of Sale-a-Bration.  I've had this set for a while and it's one of those sets that when I do use it I gotta dust it off it's been so long.  It's such a cute set too, why don't I use it more??  It's a Flower For All Seasons, it's really cute and has 4 flower images that are perfect to watercolor!  I did something a little different with the water coloring this time.  I saw this technique on Kimberly Van Diepen's blog and thought this would be the perfect time to try it!

To do this technique, paint some shimmer paint onto the paper you're going to watercolor on.  Let it dry and then stamp you image over it and watercolor as usual.  The look you get is this sparkly, shimmery look that's just so pretty!
The cards are basically the same, just different stamps and colors.  But the same idea on them both.  I water colored with my watercolor crayons and a blender pen.  Since the image is a little on the smaller side I didn't want to use my aqua painter and get the paper so saturated that it made the colors run too much.  For this card I used More Mustard, Garden Green and Crumb Cake.
These cards are so pretty in person and I wish that the shimmer was better captured, but if you've ever used the shimmer paint you know what a fantastic product it is!!!

On the next card I used Poppy Parade, Old Olive and Soft Suede.  I actually LOVE these colors together, it makes such a beautiful card!

The cards both have a button from the neutral collection with some linen thread and a pearl to finish it.  The greeting is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.  So other than the water coloring it's a pretty straight forward card.  I just love it.

I probably won't list a supply list, I think I've mentioned almost everything I've used.  If you have questions on it let me know.

Thanks for looking see you soon!!!

Sweet Easter Treats!

Welcome to a new week!!!  We had a nice quiet, restful weekend.  Even managed to squeeze in some time at the park on Sunday!
I have what just might be some of the cutest Easter treats EVER!  They're so stinkin' cute I can't get over it.  Over the weekend I saw this post from the amazing Heather Summers.  I thought it was so cute that I had to make some and I decided 'tis the season for Easter Treats!'  If you're a fan of mine on Facebook, you probably saw these little guys when I posted them there yesterday.  And if you're not a fan of mine on facebook head over and 'like' :)
Aren't they just adorable???!!!!!  They're way cute.  I was working on the bunny and attaching him together and before I put the ears and feet on him I thought 'hmmm this would probably work for a little Easter chick too'.  So the chick was made right after I finished the bunny!  The chick was easier, there wasn't any sponging on him and there were less pieces.  But I think the bunny is just a little cuter!

For the bunny I used the 2 largest circles from the Circles #2 die.  The largest one for his body and the 2nd largest for his head.  The ears are the small and large oval punch.  His nose is the small heart punch.  His hands and feet are the large oval, and the pads on his feet are the small heart and 1/4 inch circle punch.  So cute!!!  Logan was in charge of filling the cups up with the candy and we had some Valentine M&M's left so we used those, and since I asked that they all be filled with the same color it went a little like this "One light pink for the bunny, 4 reds for Logan, one light pink for the bunny 4 whites for Logan..."  Which wouldn't have been so bad if we weren't making these at 8am!  So Logan got a little after breakfast treat :)

The chick is made with the same 2 circles from the circles #2 die.  His feet and 'fluff' on his head are from the Boho Blossom Punch.  His wings are from the Large Oval.  His beak is made with the small oval punch, cut into a point.
On Heather's little frog, she mentioned that she used the 'trap door' technique to get the candy out.  I'm sure hers is much nicer and MUCH easier than how I did it, (I really wouldn't recommend my way).  I'm hoping Heather will do a video on how to do the trap door so that I can do it right. :)  But like Heather's frog, she mentioned that if you pull the head the candy will come out, so I attached a 'trap door' to my heads too.  I also added a tail to the bunny with the Boho Blossom punch.

Thanks sooo much to Heather Summers for her never ending inspiration!!!!

Just Playing With MDS!

What do I love most about My Digital Studio?  Hmmm there are sooooo many things, but I think I would have to say how quickly I can produce a scrapbook page, card or any other project!!  I had a little time today and just wanted to try something I've seen on a few MDS pages.  And I really love how this page came out.  It's a pretty simple page but it's so cute!!  And other than the fact that it should say March not January it's perfect!  But that can be easily fixed in 2 seconds so I'm not worried about it!
I love this technique though, the way the picture is layered over and over again.  So cute I just LOVE IT!!!  Remember you can get the Digital Starter Kit for 15% off through the end of March-that's only 6 days!!  It's such a fantastic deal.  I'd love to talk to you about it!

Easter Cross

When I saw this card on Dawn Olchefske's blog I just had to re-create it.  It's beautiful and the perfect card for Easter wishes.
It's made from the lattice die and couldn't be prettier!  I don't use this die much but it's a very versatile die, I should use it more.  Make sure you watch Dawn's video to see how it was made, so easy!!  For the dots in the background I used the Dot, Dot, Dot set in Sahara Sand but stamped off twice.  I didn't want the dots to be overpowering on the card but I did want a subtle pattern.
I love the flower in the center of the cross, it just adds sooo much to the card!

Supplies:
Stamp Sets: Dot, Dot, Dot and Something to Celebrate
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Old Olive, Rose Red, Springtime Vintage DSP
Ink: Sahara Sand and Rose Red
Accessories: Big Shot, Lattice Die, Vintage Adornments, 1 3/8 inch circle punch, Dimensionals

A 'Hopin' Cute Box!

Remember last week when I showed you these adorable little boxes that I made for St. Patty's Day?  Well an Easter version....caution SERIOUS CUTENESS AHEAD!!!

Awwww, he's so cute!!!  I wish I could take credit for this way cute little guy but I got the inspiration for him from Mary Fish's blog.  She's amazing!!!  Her work is always elegant and beautiful.  I love her blog!!  After seeing this little bunny on her blog, I specifically ordered the tiny oval. I've only used it once on the bunny's bum, but it was defiantly a great purchase :)
I'm not going to go into major details with how it was done, Mary has an excellent video on her blog.  But I will tell you that I used the 5 Petal Flower punch for the bunny's ears instead of the Blossoms Petals Punch.  My bunny is made from Crumb Cake cardstock and the box is Blushing Bride and Black.
These would be so adorable lined up on an Easter table or tucked into and Easter basket!  Too cute!!  I just love it!!

Friend Frame

It's defiantly spring in New Mexico.  How do I know?  Well the winds have arrived.  It's our windy season-I could do without the wind personally.  I really don't like it.  Yesterday Logan and I were walking to get the mail and I jokingly said that if he weren't holding my hand he'd blow away.  He got a really worried look on his face and squeezed my hand tighter.  He was pretty certain I wasn't joking and that he just might blow away :)
I have a card that I just love for you today!  It uses some of my favorite things--NEW STUFF!!!  This DSP and stamp set are a sneak peak into the 2011-2010 Catalog!  And I just love them!!  I do have to say that I wasn't thrilled with the DSP when I saw it online on the demo website, but after I ordered it I loved it!!!!  Just another perk of being a demonstrator-you get sneak peaks and you get to order stuff before anyone else!!!  I LOVE BEING A DEMONSTRATOR!!
So I know what you're thinking, how can I get that stamp set and DSP????  Well I'm happy to tell you that YOU can get them starting April 1!!  How? There's 2 ways to get these products:

•Spend $20 on any Stampin' Up! products and become eligible to purchase both the Four Frames Set and Paisley Petals Designer Series Paper.

•Host a $350 workshop and get the Four Frames Set and Paisley Petals Designer Series Paper for FREE!

Of course I'm partial to the 2nd option, I just think FREE is better! I'd love to set up your April workshop today!!  Call me to schedule it!

This card is so pretty in person.  I used a new technique that I saw in this month's Stampin' Success, yet another benefit to being a demonstrator :)  It's super easy and I just love it.  To do it, scrunch up some plastic wrap and put a small amount of shimmer paint onto a paper plate.  Dipped the scrunched plastic wrap in the shimmer paint and pounce it on your cardstock (I like using glossy for this).  When it's dry brayer or sponge ink over it and you'll get the mother of pearl look that's just so pretty!  Try it with other colors too for a different look!
Isn't it beautiful!!!

Supplies:
Stamp Set:  Four Frames, You're a Gem
Cardstock:  River Rock, Baja Breeze, Paisley Petals DSP, Glossy, Whisper White
Ink:  Baja Breeze, Staz On
Accessories:  Decorative Label Punch, White Shimmer Paint, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Basic Black Ribbon, Dimensionals

Oh So Cute Headbands!!

I promised a cute project today and boy do I have one.  This one I just LOVE to pieces!!!  You might remember this headband I made for Megan not long ago.  We'll as cute as it was, the glue from the glue gun did not hold up well on it.  So I found this headband from a craft store and a little light bulb went off.  Seriously I think the store got brighter!  What if I got this head band, then instead of gluing or sewing it to the headband I could attach them to clips and interchange them!  Oh my goodness!  What a great idea-though not my original one :) But still a GREAT idea!  So I attached little clips that I found in the jewelry section of that same craft store.

Isn't it great!  Now she can have a million clips to go on her headband!!!  So cute!!!   To learn more about how I make the flower you can check out this post.  I made it the same way but attached a clip to the back instead of putting on a potpourri sachet.
Here's a couple pictures of Megan wearing it and would you believe she wouldn't let me get a picture from the side.  She kept wanting to look right into the camera.  I tried shooting from the top, the side, the front, nothing, she was gonna be the center of the picture NO MATTER WHAT!  She's 5 months old today-where does the time go??

A Wee Little Project!

It really is a 'wee little project'.  But it's so adorable you can't help but love it!  Happy St. Patrick's Day by the way!  I made a bunch of these for gifts to give out today, and in my style I thought of it last night and whipped up a bunch in about an hour.  Not bad.  If I had more time I probably would have added ribbon, but that will have to wait until next year, since my brain apparently only functions last minute. :) But I think they're still adorable and can't wait to give them out today!!!
Isn't is cute!  The little box is made from the Petal Card Punch.  Then I made a little clover with the Heart to Heart punch, use the smallest flower.  I punched slivers for the stem with the Small Oval punch and glued the whole thing together.

Inside is a 'good luck' KISS!  Cute huh!?!  I think they're adorable.  AND if I start now I'll have super cute ones for Easter--stay tuned I have the cutest project coming on Monday!!!  I'll have something cute tomorrow too, so check both days!

Have a great St. Patty's Day-don't forget your green!

Thanks for looking, see you soon!!!!

Razzleberry Flowers and a Princess

I love the color combination on this card but I'm not sure that I love the card.  Don't get me wrong I really like it, I just think it's missing something.  I made this card while coming up with some projects for my April Cottage Garden class.  Here's the details on it:

I have a very exciting class coming up! Last month I started my Stamp Set of the Month class series, and we had a great time with the Eat Chocolate Stamp Set. But it needed a little modification. So in April I'll still be focusing on one stamp set but changing it up a little bit. The details are below. If you have questions please let me know. • If you choose to purchase the Cottage Garden stamp set at the class you'll receive 20% off the stamp set!!!
  • You must RSVP by March 28.
While this card isn't one of the projects that you'll be making, there might be a card with this color scheme :)
I used the big shot to Circles #2 die to cut out the circle, I believe it's the biggest circle on that die.  The rest of the card is pretty self explanatory.

I also wanted to share the cutest Decor Elements that I put up in Megan's room this weekend.  I just love it, it's over her crib and it's sooo cute!
Isn't it cute.  I used the Princess, Carriage & Frog one in pink.  I still have the frog and princess not sure where I'll put those.  Then on top I put the Girl: Princess Large in Chocolate.  Isn't it adorable!?!

I hope you can join me for my April class, I'm super excited about about it!!!

Bliss!!!

Can you believe we're almost at the end of Sale-a-Bration?  I just love this time of year and I'm sad it's almost over but Stampin' Up! has some amazing promotions coming up in the next couple months!  And there's still a couple weeks left to Sale-a-Brate!  I'm so excited!!!  I'm very close to a personal sales goal for Sale-a-Bration so to help me achieve it I'm offering FREE shipping on all orders between now and March 31!!  PLUS-in celebration of my 8th anniversary with Stampin' Up! this month if you order over $40 (before tax and shipping) you can pick a FREE package of cardstock or a FREE ink pad in ANY color through March 31!!  I can't believe I've been with SU for 8 years.  I've met amazing people, and I LOVE what I do and I've loved every minute of the past 8 years as a demo!  I'd love to help you start your SU story!  Call me today to sign up!

I copied this card from Shelli Gardner, CEO and Co founder of SU!  I hear all the time that "I can't stamp, I'm not creative" or "I could never do what you do, you're so creative"  but guess what I get most of my inspiration from others!  I copy out of our catalogs and get ideas from demonstrators from all over the world!!!  I loved this card when I saw it on Shelli's blog, I changed it a little.  I changed the colors and the flower in the center but it's basically the same idea.
I just love this stamp set, I know I've mentioned it before :)  The flourish is so beautiful, I can't help but use it on my cards!

For You!

What a weekend!  Ours was jam packed with fun!  We started the weekend on Saturday with a trip to Isotopes park, home of our local AAA baseball team.  Logan and Dan love the games and I do too, it's fun to get out and see them having so much fun!  On Saturday their tickets went on sale so we went down to get some tickets and they have the stadium open so you can go explore.  While I was feeding Megan, Logan and Dan went down to the field.  Logan got to stand on the edge of the grass.  They didn't want people on the grass since they're trying to get it ready for the games.  They spent some time in the dugout and the locker room.  Then came and found me and took me and Megan to the locker room too.  Very cool and Logan had the best time!  Sunday Logan went to a birthday party of one of his friends from school.  The party was at Chuck E Cheese.  This was Logan's FIRST time there.  He had a blast.  And even though there were 4 other parties going on at the same time, it wasn't as crazy as I thought it would be.  We're on spring break this week and I think we'll be spending it at home, doing some cleaning (lots of cleaning) and lots of stamping!

Today's card is the birthday card I made for Addisyn for her birthday party yesterday.
I just love the colors on this card.  They're so bright and cheerful-perfect for a 5 year old girl.  I love the rhinestone on the butterfly too!  The colors were inspired from the DSP and I used the Cottage Garden stamp set which coordinates with the DSP too!
Of course I used the color spritzer tool too!  I just love this card!!
Supplies:
Stamp Sets:  Cottage Garden, Clearly For You, Something to Celebrate
Cardstock:  Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Poppy Parade, Peach Parfait, Sunny Garden DSP
Ink:  Poppy Parade, Peach Parfait pads and Daffodil Delight and Peach Parfait Markers
Accessories:  Color Spritzer, Rhinestones, Eyelet border Punch, Dimensionals

I seem to be having some trouble with blogger too.  It seems that it won't let me do text next to all the pictures which is strange so until I get it figured out I may switch back to centering the pictures.  I'm not very tech savvy and I can't seem to figure out what going on, so if I have time this week I'll try to get it figured out.  Until then I hope you can forgive me in the randomness of the text on this and the past few posts :)

I'm No Quitter!

We made it to Friday! Yay it's the weekend!  Today we have a parent/teacher conference with Logan and his teachers.  What do parent/teacher conferences for a preschooler sound like?  "Yes he plays well with others" "Good a sharing"  etc.  They're actually pretty entertaining.  I have one more project to show you from my Eat Chocolate Class last week and I'll have details up on Monday about a new class I'll be doing in April!
I love this box.  It's so cute and the perfect size for lots of stuff.  I used the Box #2 die but cut off the lid and made it an open box.  It holds a bag of Hershey kisses just perfect!
I love this stamp, my favorite in the set. The box it pretty simple.  I used my color spritzer and added some Garden Green spritzes, a piece of Garden Green cardstock torn on both ends and some frayed ribbon make the rest of the box.  Isn't it cute?  I just love it!!!

I hope you have a great weekend.  I'm hoping to get in some much needed stamping time :)

Plum Butterfly

Can I just say one more time how much I LOVE the Sale-a-Bration Bliss stamp set?!  This actually might be one that I don't get rid of, and I don't say that about just any retired set.  I think in my 8 years of being a demonstrator I've kept a total of 6 retired stamp sets.  Everything else I've gotten rid of, so a stamp set has to rank really HIGH on my list to be kept in the keep pile even after it's retired :)

I just love this card.  My nieces birthday kind of snuck up on everyone this year and I had to make a card in about 5 minutes so this is what I did!
It's just so pretty!  I had some left overs from a stamp a stack where they made a card with these cardstock pieces so I just quickly modified it and I just love the final result!
The whole card  is pretty easy to figure out.  I just used one color of ink.  To get the lighter color I just stamped off on some scrap paper first.  Some rhinestones and a couple of spritzes with the color spritzer and I was done!

Supplies:
Stamp Set:  Bliss, Something to Celebrate
Cardstock:  Perfect Plum, Whisper White, Subtles DSP
Ink:  Perfect Plum pad and marker
Accessories:  Color Spritzer, Rhinestones, Dimensionals

Owl of Us!

I just love this card!  I can't even describe how much I love it!  It's just so cute!!!  My Mom and I made this card to take to church last Sunday to have people sign it.  Then we sent it to a friend who had a lung transplant a week ago.

Isn't is adorable!?  Some of the little owls are winking, one's asleep and the others are wide awake!  This is a big card, 5.5x8.5, we needed lots of room for people to write their greetings. For the greeting I just printed it on the computer and attached it to the card.
Supplies:
Cardstock:  Garden Green, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Woodland Walk DSP
Accessories:  Owl and Small Star Punch, Linen Thread, Dimensionals
Other:  Googlie Eyes

You're On My Mind

If you think that I've been using Baja Breeze alot-you're right.  I didn't notice it until today but I realize that alot of the cards updated lately I've used Baja Breeze on them.  Can you tell it's one of my favorite colors? :) This card is no different-lots of Baja Breeze here :)

I used the stamp set Nature Walk on this one, LOVE IT!  I stamped alot of the images randomly to create a collage type background.  I sponged the edges with none other than Baja Breeze!
To get the 'splatter' look on the cardstock, I took my aqua painter and made sure it wet, not dripping wet but pretty wet.  Dipped it in some of the Baja Breeze ink and tapped it on my hand over the paper.  Doing this the ink and water 'splatter' onto the cardstock.  I just love the way it looks!

Supplies:
Stamp Set:  Upsy Daisy, Nature Walk
Cardstock:  Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, Very Vanilla
Ink:  Cherry Cobbler, More Mustard, Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze, Basic Gray
Accessories:  3/4 inch Circle punch, Jumbo Brads, Dimensionals

It's Late But It's Up!!

So what happened to last week and the weekend?  I think I blinked and it was over?  I hope to be back to blogging every weekday again.  Last week was just so super busy and I just lost a couple days.  This week won't be nearly as busy so I think I'll be able to 'catch' up on some things.  I still haven't unpacked from my chocolate class on Saturday-which went GREAT by the way!  Lots of fun!  LOTS of chocolate and a new member of the Stampin' Up! family-WELCOME Anna!!!  Yay!

Today's card is just so pretty and I just love it.  There's really not a lot to explain on it.  I used my markers to color the image on the stamp then stamped it in the center full strength and off to the side of the image without reinking it so I got the lighter image.  Once the card was assembled I sprayed the whole thing with the color spritzer, too cute!  I just love this card!  So simple and so pretty!

Isn't it pretty!!

Supplies:
Stamp Set:  Nature Walk, Upsy Daisy
Cardstock:  Baja Breeze, Old Olive, Melon Mambo, Whisper White
Ink:  Baja Breeze Pad and Melon Mambo, Old Olive and Baja Breeze Markers
