Getting Caught Up!

Today I have a couple more pages from my 2012 album.  I'm just loving this scrapbooking thing!  The first page uses the new Summer Starfruit.  I feel a little bad that I prejudged it so quickly.  Doesn't it look great with all these zoo pictures?!  We just love attending the zoo and seeing all the animals.  Logan was in a summer camp all last week at the zoo, we gave him his own camera (those disposable ones with actual film) I can't wait to see his pictures!!!  You can probably expect a scrapbook page with them too :)
The next one is from Easter.  These pictures just crack me up!  Leading up to Easter Megan loved to carry her Easter basket around, so we knew she'd love the egg hunt at church that morning.  After getting some quick instructions, she headed out to the garden to hunt for eggs.  It took her a few minutes to get the hang of it and once she got her first egg she looked so disappointed in her findings.  So cute!!!!  She did collect a few more but we just loved these pictures!

Perfectly Beautiful!

This is one of my favorite cards that I've made recently!  I love the bright colors together and the texture, ribbon and pearls.  It all just comes together!  This color combo is courtesy of the color coach.  If you don't have one you NEED one!  It's the perfect tool when you're stumped with what color to use or just need a little more inspiration!  I knew I wanted to use Raspberry Ripple (don't you love this color!) so I used my handy color coach to guide me with what colors to use with it-Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive.  I might have paired Old Olive with it-but probably never would have thought to use Pumpkin Pie! But it works!!

The butterflies are probably my favorite thing about this card (does that surprise you).  I used my markers to color them and cut out the two smaller ones, the larger one happily fits in the new butterfly punch!  Of course I had to add rhinestones or pearls to it, in this case I went with the pearls.  I put all the butterflies on a piece of the Old Olive DSP from the Polka Dot Package.

I love the Fancy Fan embossing folder.  I seem to be using it more and more and more.....is it possible it might replace my old standby the Perfect Polka Dots?  Probably not, but I do love it!  I embossed the greeting in white embossing powder.  Just adds a little more WOW to the card.  I used a little of the Raspberry Ripple ribbon, for some extra texture.  I hope you love this card as much as I do.

More Chocolate And A Pin!

Do you see a theme this week???  Really all these little boxes and treats being posted this week in a row is an accident or maybe a coincidence??  I certainly didn't plan to do them all in a row, but here we are!  This little box, I'm not sure it's a box, but it's not a pouch either, anyway this little package I made a couple weeks ago but was waiting to have time to finish the flower pin before I could post it.
Inside is some Ghirardelli Chocolates.  It's been so long since I posted a project with them.  I bet you thought I didn't love them anymore, NOPE not the case here :)  I used the Top Note Die to get the fun look on the top and that little bit of Turquoise border that's made with the new Finishing Touches Edgelits.  The hair pin holds everything closed.  So cute right!?  As much as I'd love to claim this idea as my own I saw a similar project in my Paper Crafts magazine, it was a couple issues ago :)
The sweet little pin, is made with the Summer Smooches fabric and I just sewed a couple buttons on it to hold it all together.  Add it to a pin back and you're done!  Simple and cute!  Just how I like my stamping projects.  I think if were going to make more of these I might emboss the box with one of our embossing folders to give it some more texture, but I also like the clean lines of this one too :)

Mini Milk Carton

I just love the Milk Carton Die!!!!  I don't use it much but when I do I love the creations and I forget how easy it is to assemble :)  For this little milk carton, I took the Mini Milk Carton Die and made it shorter!  I only took about 1/2 an inch to and inch off the bottom of it but it makes a difference!  It's much shorter and so much cuter!!!!  I used the A Fitting Occasions stamp set for this box.  My thought was that I could fill the milk carton with some coffee beans and this would make such a sweet little gift for a coffee lover.

The box itself is decorated quite simply.  Just a little sponging some spritzing with my color spritzer and you're done!  I used some new Raspberry Ripple ribbon just to add a little frill to it.  I'm starting to really LOVE this ribbon!!!!  I was worried that with all the stitching it would be hard to tie but it's not!  I say this about every ribbon, but this one I do wish it were in all the colors!

Sweet Treat

Logan finished up his camps last week.  Now we have the rest of the summer to do our own thing!  I will say that it was exhausting (not for him) but for me!  So much driving to and from and it was so hot!  He was a real trooper for dealing with the heat and not complaining about it.  Another great little trooper-Megan!  She was so good with all the long car rides, the in and out of the car to sign him in and out, the waiting, etc.  She was such a good baby and even though it messed with her naptime a little she remained in a good mood----MOST of the time :)  I made this little treat for Logan's zoo camp teacher.  Didn't it come out adorable!?

I used Rich Razzleberry and the new DSP International Bazaar.  I love this DSP!  I love the colors and the patterns!  So fun!!!  I added a paper rosette and one of our new buttons.  I just adore these new little buttons!!!  I hope you don't get tired of them but I have big plans to use them on LOTS of projects :)  I used the Itty Bitty Banners for the greeting.
The inside holds a yummy chocolate bar!!  The whole thing is tied together with some Daffodil Delight stitched grosgrain ribbon.  On Friday while waiting the 5 minutes we were there the chocolate melted!  Can you believe that!!!  It's been so hot here the past few days (weeks).  Normally I'm a fan of the warmer weather but when we're pushing 100 degrees by noon you know we'll be in for a rough summer!  Super cute and a quick project!

Some MDS

Ok, ok, ok I know you've already seen these pictures scrapbooked a million different ways.  But isn't that the great thing about MDS!?!  Now that my 2011 album is in my hands, and I just LOVE it by the way, I thought I'd get caught up on 2012.  I'm almost up to date.  How amazing would it be to send the 2012 album right after the new year!?!  I'm in March, maybe April so I'm really almost caught up!!!  These are some pages from the 2012 book.  The first one has pictures that I just adore!!!!  I've scrapbooked them several times, but I do love this page!
I've also shown a dresden page before too, but this one is another one of my favorites so I wanted to share this too.  I love the DSP in it.  I think the Summer Smooches DSP is one of my favorite downloads!!!!  How completely sweet is is this picture of Megan too????  Don't be fooled by her complete cuteness-she's trouble and into everything!!!!  But she's cute so she can get away with it :)

Hello Baby

How sweet is this little baby card?!!!!  I used the new A Fitting Occasion set.  This was one of my favorite sets when I first looked through the catalog and I was so excited to get it and play with it.  I just love the sweet little elephant.  I used the Bitty Banners Framelits to make the banners.  I love the look of the chevron folder with the banners.
This card could easily be switched up with some different DSP for a baby girl card.  Also new on this card is the Polka Dot DSP.  I love the colors that it comes in and I LOVE the dots!!!!!  I can't wait to use this set for so many other things!  Stay tuned for more creations!!!!

The Basic 8

This is one of my favorite cards that I've done in a long time.  It's simple, pretty, fun and sparkly!  It's a little hard to see that it's sparkly so you'll have to just take my word on that.  In our monthly demonstrator magazine, Stampin' Success, they had an article about 'The Basic 8 Colors.  These colors are Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Garden Green, Pacific Point, Elegant Eggplant, Chocolate Chip and Basic Black.  I saw a card similar to this on Pintrest so I wanted to make my own.

I used the new embossing folder, Fancy Fan.  To get the rainbow effect I used my watercolor crayons and my aqua painter.  After it all dried I spritz (heavily) with some shimmer mist spray.  To finish the card I added a greeting and one of the new Vintage Faceted buttons-I LOVE those buttons!!!

Need A Reason To Smile!

I have a super fun sneak peak for you!  In July you'll have the opportunity to get this super cute stamp set for only $5 when you spend $50!!!  If you're a demonstrator you can preorder it now!  Just another great perk!  I used guess what Summer Starfruit on this card.  It's really starting to grow on me, I think, yep I never thought I'd say it, but I think I like it! Believe me no one is more surprised than me that I like this color.  No don't get me wrong, it's not a favorite, but I don't hate it :)  I think it only works with certain colors.  The black combo is perfect for it.

This stamp set is so pretty, there's a couple different flower images but I love this one.  The daisy I think is my favorite!!!  Did you see what in the center of the flower?  Don't you just love the new little In Color Dahlia's?  They're so cute!!!!

All Tied Up

I have one more Father's Day card for you, this is the card I made my dad.  I love the little ties.  And yes if you're wondering that's Summer Starfruit.  And yes that's the Chevron folder again :)  Sorry for the quick post again but Logan starts another summer camp this week.  We'll be going non stop until the beginning of July.  Hopefully I'll fit in some stamping time somewhere in there :)

Father's Day Comfort

Father's Day is Sunday.  I feel like it snuck up on us this year.  Probably has nothing to do with the fact that we've been going non stop all month.  We've had visitors, Logan's been in camp and we've just been super busy.  But again, I'm sure that has nothing to do with it :)  One of my favorite new embossing folders in the new catalog is the Chevron folder.  It makes such a bold crisp impression.  This is the card I made for Dan for Father's Day.  Logan still needs to finish the swatchbook I had printed for Dan, hopefully we'll get that done today :)

Butterflies Make Me Happy!

One of the sets I knew I HAD to have right away from the new catalog is the Papillion Potpourri Set.  You know if you're going to get that set you HAVE to get the punch that goes with it right!?!  This was the first card I made with it.  Don't you just love the new International Bazaar DSP???  FUN.  Then there's the new Sweet Essentials Set, Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon and the Vintage Faceted Buttons!!!!  I love those buttons!!!  And don't forget the new embossing folder, I used the Argyle Folder.
There are a ton of new products on this card.  To color the butterfly I used markers, Rich Razzleberry, Lucky Limeade, and Pacific Point.  To add some more texture I sponged the edges with Rich Razzleberry ink.

Love What You Do!

Today I'm showing you my project for the Over The Top Swap.  I love this framed project.  I typed up Stampin' Up!'s statement of the heart in MDS (of course) and turned it into a fun hybrid project.  I love it!!!!  I got this idea from the online MDS class that I took from Heather Summers.  It's already hung in my stamping room and I'm hoping it inspires lots of great creativity and fun projects!  New projects with NEW products coming tomorrow!!!!!
Thanks for looking, see you soon!!!

Over The Top Happiness!!!

What did you think of yesterday's projects.  Weren't they great!!!   Everyone this year did an amazing job with their swaps!!! I've had a couple questions on the garden stakes from yesterday.  The tags are made from Alluminum Flashing, you can get it at any hardware store. The holders for the tags, she said she found online.  So today, I have the rest of them to show you today.  The first one is Kay's.  It's cute, creative and the perfect desk mate for any stamper!!!!  Kay used PVC pipes to create a little liquid adhesive holder for your desk.  I love it!!!!  After Nichole's desk set yesterday and this one, I came home and immediately reorganized my desk to fit these little tools!!!!
Cassie did this beautiful necklace and earrings set!  She used the new Dahlia's from the catalog!  It's so pretty, and the lace ribbon is perfect with it!!!  And it was really easy!  I'm not a jewelry maker but this is something I could defiantly do!  How fun would it be to have a set in all 5 colors!!!!
Nichole's Mom, Antoinette did these (with some help from Nichole I think).  Aren't they just the cutest flip flops ever!!!!!  I'm not the only one who loves them.  Megan just adores them and though they're waaaayyyyyy to big for her she keeps trying to put them on and walk around the house with them-so cute!!!!!
Finally, Michelle C did this butterfly mobile.  She was inspired by one she saw at Pottery Barn.  It's so pretty in person.  I'm going to hang it in Megan's room, I think she'll love it too!!!!  I didn't show you my swap yet, I'll have it up tomorrow!!
Thanks for looking, see you soon!!!!!!

What A Great Weekend

Saturday was our over the top swap.  I look forward to this swap all year.  The projects are always great and this year was no exception.  I'll show you some today and the rest tomorrow.  Nichole did this little office set.  I just love it!!!  There's a recycled button container to hold paper clips, a post it holder, notebook and pen!  I love the colors too, just wonderful!!!
Amber did the next project.  She has just read a book, One Thousand Gifts: A Dare to Live Fully Right Where You Are, and she wanted us to have our own journals to write down our own blessings and gifts in life.  Plus I just love this new fabric!!!  Yes I know it has Summer Starfruit in, but that color is starting to grown on me :)

The last one today is Liz K's project.  She did little garden stakes.  They're so pretty and they were easy to make too!!!!  Logan loves these and even asked if one was for him.  So I let him pick one, he chose the top note one, we put it outside in his rock/stick collection pile :)  ***Added 4:30pm 6/11/12--I've had a couple questions on the garden stakes.  The tags are made from Alluminum Flashing, you can get it at any hardware store.  The holders for the tags, she said she found online.***
Thanks for looking, see you tomorrow!

Owls+Birthdays=FUN!

Dan's birthday was Wednesday, as a stamper I'm embarrassed to say that his birthday card wasn't done until Wednesday night :(  It's not that I didn't want to make him a card I just simply didn't have the time (or the desk space).   Once I had cleared enough space to stamp I got to work.  I was a little stumped at first, I knew it would be hard to top last years birthday card.  I still think it's one of my favorite punch creations ever!!!  While this one isn't as cute it's still pretty cute!!!
My idea for this card was to have the little owl out on a branch holding a flag.  Once I got that part done it looked to plain and needed a fun background.  I didn't like anything I tried so I just started embossing scraps to see what would look the best behind the owl, lo and behold it looked best all together!  Who would have thought!!!???  I used a brad for the top of his birthday hat.  Isn't he cute!  I just love the gogglie eyes!!!
On the inside I added a few more flags.  This owl is a little obsessed with flags....plus I had to finish the greeting :)  All in all I'm quite satisfied with this card! I got a whole box of new stuff and nothing but cleaning the house on the agenda for today.......but who needs a clean house!!!  I know what I'm doing today!!!!!!!
Thanks for looking, see you soon!!!!!

Summer Starfruit???

This is my least favorite Stampin' Up! color ever.  I think either you love it or you hate.  There's really no in between with this color.  Somehow though it's super popular and I've seen it everywhere.  Now this is either because people love it or it's because they hate and they want to use it up :)  I'm not sure if this color will every 'grow' on me like some of the other in colors have I guess we'll find out.  Wouldn't it be hilarious if in 2 years when it's time to say good bye to these colors it will be the color I miss the most :)  Don't cross your fingers!  Since it's such a 'popular' color I thought I'd show you a few more swaps from our meeting last week that use it.  The first card is Kim M's demo card, but it still showcases it nicely.  I think when paired with the right color it's ok, but I'm still not a fan.  But I do love this card :)

This card is by LaRee.  I like it in the DSP!  I'm glad LaRee used the other colors for the flowers though ;)
The next card is by Liz K.  Like I said earlier when paired with other colors it can be a nice color.  Maybe I'm just a little closed minded on this color.
This card I love, didn't think I would but I do!  It's Amber's card and it's somehow works.  So what about you???  Do you love this color?  Hate it?  I want to know.  Is it just me???  Leave me a comment and let me know.
Thanks for looking, see you soon!!!!

Some Swaps

I have a few swaps to show you today from our meeting last week.  I'll show you some more tomorrow too.  I love seeing what others do with the new stuff from the catalogs.  I hope you enjoy it too!!!  This first card is by Kim Madrid.  I can't believe she hand cut all those birds!!!!
The next one is by Stephanie.  I love the tearing and the vintage feel to it!  It's so fun in person and would be a great masculine card!
Cassie did the next one.  These colors just make me happy.  I love the Rich Razzleberry and all the other fun colors!!!  The little tags are some new framelits.  Can't wait to get those!!!
The last one for today is the card that Carmelita did for the make and take.  It's so cute!!!  I love those little bitty banners!!!  Whohooo for new stuff right!!!!??!
Thanks for looking, see you soon!!!!!

Trio of Cards

I have the three cards Amber designed for our New Catalog Kick Off.  I love her cards.  Especially this first one!  I love the sweet little vase and the little flowers with the mini brads!!!  Don't you just I love the Summer Smooches DSP!!!?
The next card she used the set Everything Eleanor.   When we were given this set at Leadership, I wasn't a fan.  But it's starting to grow on me and it's becoming a favorite stamp set of mine!!!  I love how Amber made this into a masculine card.  We can never have enough masculine cards right??!!
Finally the last card with Betsy's Blossom.  How amazing and cute this flower is.  She stamped the large flower and used the Blossom Punch to punch it out.  I love it!!!  That flower is quickly becoming very versatile!!!!!
There's going to be lots of quick posts this week.  Starting today, I'm hanging a new art show (a watercolor show) at my church.  Just one of the many things I do :)  Plus 3 of Logan's cousins are in town visiting, so we have lots of play time scheduled :)
Thanks for looking, see you soon!!!!

UPS!

We all love UPS, especially when they bring us some new stamps!  Last night at our meeting, I showed this fun MDS Hybrid project that will make even your UPS man smile!!!!  I created this fun door hanger in MDS, using the Epic Overlays download.  It's just an 8.5x11 paper.  Then I had it printed and made a fun door hanger.  Since we give the demo's out at the meeting and I would have no idea who got mine I made it work for anyone.
This is mine that I made for my house, as you can see it's customized a little more.  I added a fun scalloped border.  I used mine for the first time last week when I was expecting an order.  I wasn't sure what the UPS man would do, when I returned home he had turned the door hanger around and left my box!!  WHOOOHOO new stamps.  I sure hope he smiled a little when he saw my fun door hanger.  I so wish I could take all the credit for this, but it was an idea from my MDS idol Heather Summers.  She showed a different door hanger and another member of the class posted a UPS one.  I loved it and HAD to make it!!!!!!  Today is the first day of the new catalog, I'll be posting links a little later.  Online ordering will begin at noon.  Yay for the new catalog!!!!
Thanks for looking see you soon!!!!
